Keeping Food Costs Down - the topic on Weight Watchers
Of course, just eating less and cutting out junk food has always been helpful but this is the first time I've seen this emphasis coming from WW itself. They've always stressed that the plans are for all economic groups, whether you eat mostly meat or can only afford, or want, beans. Now they've been soliciting money-saving tips from members.

1. Healthy foods are very expensive.
Eggs have gone up precipitously in the last year. Fresh vegetables are out of reach for many low income people. Meat is very expensive. Even rice, which used to be affordable, has gone up in price. Obesity is more common among the poor, because it's cheaper to feed a family on refined carbs like Ramen and pasta than to afford meats and vegetables.
