Is there a resource that shows where the Dow Jones Index was on January 1 in previous years?

But don't forget to adjust for inflation. In other words

$11,500 in 2001 is the equivalent of $14,206 in 2008

So, if the Dow is $8,000 at the end of December, it will have dropped $6,200 in 2008 dollars, not 3,500.
