GNOME RESCUE PLAN NOW COSTS OVER SEVEN TRILLION

Oops,’ said the Übergnome of Goldman Sachs as he walked into Congress to give the latest report of the Gnome Raid on the US Treasury. Aka, Ginnungagap

(”magical (and creative) power-filled space”<1>) was the vast, primordial void that existed prior to the creation of the manifest universe.<2> In the northern part of Ginnungagap lay the intense cold of Niflheim, to the southern part lay the equally intense heat of Muspelheim.
Well, back to Paulson’s little, itty bitty mistake: ‘Sorry, HAHAHA, we made mistake! We made little mistake! We left off some zeros from the rescue fund.’ He rubbed his twisted, old hands, sweat pouring off his naked skull top. ‘Yesss…made mistakes, we did, we did! It is $7 TRILLION, not small, insignificant $700 billion. HAHHAHA. Now, give me the Ring of Power.’

1. Thanks for posting this
I just heard this on Bloomberg. I was hoping to find a written commentary on this $7.76 trillion.

This is complete insanity and there is no way in hell we'll EVER be able to pay this back. And all of it is going to rich banksters, to keep them from becoming less rich.

This is Corporate Welfare at its finest.

8. I agree...
finishing us off after years of abuse. The players in this game -- both dem and rethug -- seem hell bent on turning We, the People, into indentured slaves for generations.

7. Total US GDP is $ 14 trillion. This is as if you had an annual
income of $ 14,000 and you got a call from your banker wanting you to give him half of your income to bail him out.

5. Good point
If the population of the US is 300,000,000 that would be 23,333.33 for every man woman and child. So a family of four would receive 93,333.33. I'm pretty sure that would wipe out everyones personal debt. The banks would still get the money as everyone paid back their debts on homes, student loans credit cards, etc. People would feel unburdened and better equipped to deal with a slower economy, banks would be solvent, what's wrong with that solution? Sure some people would go out and spend the money frivolously but wouldn't that pump up the economy?

6. Sad thing is that it works in reverse
This really adds to our debt by 93,333.33 for a family of 4. Argh.
