Gerald Celente: "Worst economic collapse ever"

Gerald Celente - one of the world's foremost leaders in trends forecasting interviewed by Marina Portnaya, a Russia Today journalist.

"In 2009 were going to see the worst economic collapse ever, the Greatest Depression", says Gerald Celente. He believes its going to be very violent in the U.S. and our future will include a tax revolt.

Apologies for the mediocre, out-of-sync audio, but overall the message is well worth it!

Caution: don't watch with any sharp instruments in your hand - may want to harm yourself...

3. Do the hustle.
No wonder the bankers had us bail out all their toxicity. They did this before the storm hit. I never want to hear a banker or govt. official talk about financial responsibility. I know think about banks the way I have always felt about wall street investors-hustlers.

10. Yep... and thats why they pushed so hard for the bankruptcy bill.
They pushed and pushed and pushed ... and thanks to our new VP they got it. Why he did it I would sure like to know but I bet he regrets it now.

It was not about guys buying too many plasma tv's

It was about sticking it to us all if the system fell apart. And stick us they did with TARP

4. Celente is a bunko artist
. . . who has been appearing on shows like George Noory's Coast to Coast AM and that of the notorious anti-Semite broadcaster Jeff Rense for the past two years. He explains that he gets his forecasts from feeding all the internet, all broadcasting, all writing into a computer, which then allows him to make his predictions. He is a woo woo artist and should be viewed as nothing more than an entertainer.

5. Sounds like the financial equivalent of an astrologer.
He's right on several points, but they are fairly general.

9. Read his wikipedia bio/article.

Nothing general about his predictions... all of which have panned out.

Now he says commercial real estate is next ...dare to doubt him?

Nobody can predict the future but just take a look at his subscribers...

7. wikipedia - Gerald Celente

more about Gerald Celente
Gerald Celente is a United States trend forecaster and author, and CEO of The Trends Research Institute founded in 1980. He is noted for predicting the 1987 stock market crash and the fall of the Soviet Union.<1> Celente has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Today Show<3> amongst other business news and morning shows.

Celente has criticized the Consumer Price Index because it does not integrate statistics for food and fuel.<11> He accuses the Federal Reserve of "jive talk" about interest rates, claiming that they are in a "rate trap" where lowering interest rates crashes the dollar and raising them crashes the economy.<11> He claims the Fed is exacerbating the economic crisis of 2008 by "bailing out their buddies with cheap money".<11>

He also believes that the general populace has more wisdom regarding the crisis than Wall Street, the media, and the political world.<11> He has repeatedly said the public should not be looking for solutions to the economic crisis from people who failed to see it coming in the first place. Celente is on record with the Hudson Valley Business Journal and UPI presswire service as having stated on November 12, 2007 that the coming year would bring the beginning of an economic crisis "the likes of which no one alive has ever seen."

I thought the video was good, Celente telling what I believe is coming down the road for all of us.

14. hell, *i* predicted the 1987 crash and the fall of the ussr, can i be a pundit?
i not only predicted it, but i put my money where my mouth was and tripled my portfolio in about a week by buying puts (a bet that the market would go down quickly)

and the fall of the soviet union was widely signalled by gorby. the financial situation was apparent and long-term repressive regimes cannot survive "glasnost". in fact, that's one of the primary reasons they become repressive in the first place.

so can i be a pundit?

11. I think what people may need...
is a formula for determining those who are most responsible for this mess.

If people are going to revolt, they need to know who to revolt against.

I really hate the idea of this happening, but just having some wealth really shouldn't make someone a target.

15. It will not matter...

People that are hungry with kids ..no place to go ..kids starving for 3-4 days ...if they see a mansion with food.. won't matter.

If they are armed or not they will do whatever to live.

Desperation changes you ..I have no kids but I fear for our safety when the stores go empty.

They will do what they their conscience allows when it happens ...and knowing this country anything goes.

And unless you like fighting for toilet paper at markets with bare shelves I would stock up.

Better to have and not need then need and not have.

17. I have been telling my kids this for over a year - Water too is going to be a huge future issue.
You don't have to be a "guru" to know this! Everyone should be stocking up. It just makes sense - but I am not too worried right now - we will have to see how it goes in 6 months.

19. I pray for us all and I am not a member of any church.

I hope Obama's plan somehow works.... I hope for a miracle ... I hope I am WRONG.

And there is good reason to think positive... with Obama the whole world wants to make peace with us (well most of it)

And then there is consumer confidence... faith drives the whole engine and perhaps faith is coming back. :)

But I am stocking up....
