Everyone knows employers hire because they have to. The USA fights wars because they want to. Uncertainty over Health care and taxes has little effect.

1. I disagree with your premise, but I blame the Repubs, so I don't see
how the talking point helps them.

2. Not true at all. Any business hates uncertainty.
Business expand because they have to but they can also put it off if possible.

If HCR and higher taxes were done, fixed in stone, and behind us business would calculate employee cost and go from there.

The uncertainty is a killer. Nobody really knows what this is going to cost business and many would prefer to "wait and see".

So it is the delay/uncertainty which is worse than any cost of HCR.

3. They're more worried about the econ re: customers than by govenment policies...
they know there won;t be tax increase -- not soon, anyway -- and they would generally welcome better HC ins. options for.

5. As a small business owner, I say it's lack of spending....
that is the real problem. Every other business person I speak to says they are down, down, down in sales. The big boys can cut staff and pressure suppliers to pull more down to the bottom line despite shrinking sales. Most small businesses have no significant reduction in expenses that would make up for forty to fifty percent less sales than a year ago.
