Why the hell can't Peter Solomon (on CSPAN 2 now) be Treasury Secretary? |
|
Good Lord. Yes, he's celebrating the early 60s as the heydey of fiscal responsibility (yet I keep thinking his offices looked like those in Mad Men--no women, no African Americans), but he's so damned reasonable in his analysis of the government sponsored oligopoly (his term). How could the Republicans have a problem with him?
Well, don't answer that.

1. Thanks for posting this -- reminded me to tune in. And the Republicans have |

a problem with anybody we want.
How has the hearing been going so far? Tough questions, or namby-pamby? Thanks.

2. I only began with the panel of industry critics, so it all sounds great right now |
|
Don't know about the earlier presentations/rationalizations by the CEOs, except they must have made a lot of claims about how they "misjudged risk," since the panelists and commission members keep referring back to it.
But I'm pleasantly surprised by what these critics are saying. Very refreshing.
