"Better Off Deadbeat" - an interesting tactic to fight the banksters and other corporate parasites..
Better Off Deadbeat: Craig Cunningham Has a Simple Solution for Getting Bill Collectors Off His Back. He Sues Them.

http://www.dallasobserver.com/2010-01-21/news/better-off-deadbeat-craig-cunningham-has-a-simple-solution-for-getting-bill-collectors-off-his-back-he-sues-them/

... While most Americans with unpaid bills dread the collector's call, Cunningham sees them as lucrative opportunities. Many collection and credit card companies, intentionally or not, violate little-known consumer rights laws, and Cunningham's favorite pastime is catching them doing so and then suing them. In fact, it's a profitable side job. ...

Using the few weapons we have against those fucking us over can evidently work. And while it could be abused to duck "legitimate" debts, I think it's about time we, the people did some abusing of the enemy.

1. So he games the system
then cries foul when he's expected to pay up?

Sorry, I have no sympathy for him and find his actions reprehensible. HE is part of the problem that we're in now, not the solution.

2. I acknowledged that this example is not a poster child for responsibility. The question is whether
the tactic is a useful tool.

Along the same lines as the "produce the paper"

http://plainview.wordpress.com/2009/02/24/produce-the-paper/

tactic to forestall mortgage foreclosures.

I say, ANYTHING that fights against the corporate takeover of the US is a good thing.

4. There is nothing wrong with exploiting the flaws in a rigged and dishonest system.
It is true that it is not morally uplifting, but this is a dog-eat-dog economy, self-interest run amok, claiming your opponent is "cheating" when he cleans your clock is dishonest unless you are up for real reform.

3. I have to laugh
It's nice to see someone using the system to throw shit back in the face of the major shit-tossers, but he is still gaming the system. Of course, if the system was fair in the first place, there would be no need to game it.

7. from my perspective, give the man a medal . . .
anyone who can beat mega-corps at their own game (which they've rigged in their favor at every opportunity), I say more power to them . . . I'm saving this article just in case I ever end up in a similar situation . . .
