I guess the banks really are broke |
|
My wife works as secretary to our tiny local chamber of commerce. The Wasington Mutual bank branch has been a member forever. WAMU went bust and was absorbed by Chase, which contued it's membership until this year. When they failed to return their renewal notice, Renaté called the manager, who told her there was nothing in their budget for chamber membership. But wait, he said. Let me call the district manager and get back to you. Yesterday he called back. There's no money for the $145 dues. We live in desperate times, folks.

Who else would be able to run an economy into the ground like these guys have?
Haven't they earned it?
