Senators Demand Stop Sending Stimulus Dollars Overseas
Believe this or not, of the $2 billion for green jobs (remember those, the ones supposedly going to be the jobs of tomorrow and claims they wouldn't be offshore outsourced, yes I laughed at that claim too), but already $1.4 billion of Stimulus funds supposedly to go for U.S. green jobs has gone.....offshore

Senators Schumer, Tester, Brown and Casey are trying to stop this, writing a letter to Tim Geithner demanding a freeze of funds as well as introducing legislation to require the funds be sourced domestically. (Buy American).

Over on The Economic Populist are the details

When we find the bill title and number we'll update that post, but in the interim, please call your Senators to cosponsor this bill.

It's just outrageous that U.S. taxpayer dollars are being used to Stimulate China's economy and not being used for Buy American and Hire America

2. It's China's money anyway
They lend it to the US and we ship it back to them. Money laundering on a world scale!

3. Let he without sin cast the first stone
I agree that this is disgusting, before we get up in arms about what others are buying with our money, let's examine what we are doing with our own.

Who reading this is doing so on a computer made in America?
Who drives a car made in America? Cell phone? Shoes? Clothes?

Go to your closet and look at the labels. Go ahead. Look. I'll wager 9 of 10 items in your closet came from China or Pakistan or Vietnam or elsewhere in south Asia Even the American working mans standard -Carhart- now sources items from Mexico and South America so that some "Made in the USA" websites no longer carry their new items.

Look in the fridge. Beer in there American or German? Got tomatos in there? It's winter here. They probably came from Mexico. Wine? California or France ... Chile or Australia maybe? Mustard French's yellow or French Dijon?

The list goes on and on.

So while it would be nice if Congress spent our money here, it would be nicer if WE did ourselves. Congress, in this regard, accurately represents us. They are only doing what we are doing ourselves.

Charity begins at home.

5. I suppose it's like most things in life...
If you think something needs doing you probably ought to do it yourself. 'cause if you wait around for someone else to do it, it's not going to get done!
