1. Unfortunately, he only skirts the edges of what needs to be done
although he's right about the reasons we're about to take another steep slide.

Obviously, the progressive tax needs to return to raise revenues now. Equally obvious is the fact that the Pentagon budget needs to be brought under control and reduced sharply, although that will take time to avoid putting this country at risk while the generals remove their thumbs from their asses and learn how to prioritize rather than squander.

If the country fails to do either of these two things, it is finished.

3. I doubt that there is a recovery
The bailouts and stimulus are probably just buying time during this "jobless" recovery.

4. It might be "real" that we've slowed our rate of descent.
maybe even leveled off. Hardly the same thing as a "recovery."

5. yes it's real, but it's just a "recovery", which is something different from "recovered"
just because you're going up a hill doesn't mean you're out of the valley.
"recovery" starts at the BOTTOM of the valley.

6. I suspect it is a "false" recovery, much like mid-1930.

We have the commercial real estate problem, sovereign debt and competitive currency devaulation issues yet to weather.
