Not only do Russian geologists think they've found billions of tons more fossil fuels to burn under the seabed......but it's in the Arctic! Wonderful.

At least it'll be easy to get to in a few more decades.....

1. It might actually be much harder the longer they wait

Right now most active work in the arctic is done during the winter when the ground surface is totally frozen. They just basically drive on the ice.

If there is too much thaw the heavy equipment just bogs down.

I don't think the Russians will let environmental concerns get in the way of tapping these reserves if it is practical to do so.

I wonder what the composition of our atmosphere will be after we get done draining the Earth of all its fossil fuels.

Once positive feed back starts in earnest, the perma frost will melt causing a gigantic methane burp and poof! we are all dead.

None of the people in charge give a shit about reality. They only care about money and driving their big ass ugly SUV's and making more and more weapons to kill us all with.

If they really gave a damn, there would be real caps on everything and there would be nothing but conservation, but alas that won't happen until it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to late.

Like anything us humans do, we always wait till the last possible minute and usually by that point, we are so fucked, we then complain about why we waited so long.
