I confess I haven't liked a lot of this man's columns. But there's always been the germ of something good in them.

In this one, I think he's onto something.

1. Easy to dislike a columnist who waits 2/3 thru his column to announce his point.

2. Excellent! What's wrong with rationing? Seems to me it would

quell many problems. It would hit the oil companies pockets (plus),lower demand on foreign sources (plus) and lower CO2 emissions (plus)....it would mean thinking before driving, prioritizing and economizing....however, being open minded I would like to hear how rationing could be harmful. Thanks for posting.

3. I have no personal objection to gas rationing. People seem incapable

of the self-discipline it takes to voluntarily cut back on gas use. So FORCE in the form of rationing is necessary.

Unfortunately, the whining, spoiled wasters are in charge and not me.

4. Recent events suggest that gas will soon be rationed *for* us, via peak fossil.
