On CNN's web page there is this bit of "fairly unbalanced" reporting...
"Chatting with America's gas price survey maven"
http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/07/10/fa.lundberg.qa/index.htmlReading this idiots assessment of our current gas prices, you have to believe that 1) hurricane damage from Katrina was SO severe that refineries "just haven't had a chance to repair things" (two years have gone by, and money to repair critical refineries would not seem to be in short supply, given the profits of the oil giants), 2) the reason gas prices are so high is the SUBSIDIES given to alternative fuels (huh?), 3) Americans need not inconvenience themselves by driving less or driving more efficient vehicles, and 4) there isn't any such thing as global warming, but stories about global warming are driving up gas prices.
really unbelievable stuff drooling out of her mouth.
The Lundberg Report used to be the "Bible" of the oil and gas industry, but that was when it was published by her father, Dan Lundberg. This person is responsible for the following:
------------------------------------------
"Best known for being married to Dan Lundberg, the late "oil guru," Mesa was an attorney who was an organic gardener in the 1950s and sailed her family to Greece from Los Angeles. When Dan retired, the family business, Lundberg Survey, was being run by their son Jan. But after Dan died in 1986, Jan moved on to the east coast and his sister Trilby Lundberg took over. Then Trilby took all Mesa's stock in the family business worth tens of millions of dollars, for 1/200th the market value, and became chairperson.
In 1995 Trilby— to avoid "unlawful detainer" action that Mesa was forced to file against her daughter—forced Mesa into conservatorship using perjury. Mesa has thus lost almost everything she had to lawyers, conservators and wasteful care. She just wants to live in peace, but is a prisoner in what state investigators are looking into for medical and financial fraud and violation of rights. For example, the Santa Barbara nursing home is a hospice, but Mesa is not terminally ill. The care costs over $6,000 a month. She has been hospitalized due to negligence more than once, but bounces back."

Lovely.
So it's now this person, Trilby, who is running the Lundberg report. And she has shown such compassion for her own mother.
But CNN is treating her like she is an "expert" on the energy debate.
