Any "Hyper-Milers" Out There?
I'm proud to say that I get twice the estimated mpg out of my '96 4x4 Blazer with 171K original miles...and all because of "hyper-miling". I've been doing it for years, but never knew it had a name: http://mateo.gassavers.net/saving-gas-does-not-have-to-be-dangerous/

1. A little bit
Mostly just the easy stuff, like coasting to stops when I can, doing 55 mph on the highway, and drafting semi-trailers (but I still obey the 3-second rule). I've been able to get 48 mpg out of my 2005 Scion xA on a long highway trip using this method, and usually average in the upper 30's for mixed city/highway driving. The factory sticker says 31 city/38 highway, so I'm pretty happy with it, especially for a $13,000 car.
