Snowless French ski resort closing

By THIERRY BOINET, Associated Press Writer Fri Jul 20, 9:55 AM ET

ABONDANCE, France - Muddy slopes, slushy peaks, unused lifts — this town in the French Alps is living out the nightmare of many a ski resort in a century scientists say is doomed to keep getting warmer.

The city council of Abondance — its name a cruel reminder of the generous snowfall it once enjoyed — voted 9-6 last month to shut down the ski station that has been its economic raison d'etre for more than 40 years. The reason: not enough snow.

2. but on a more serious note
with every new news item about mounting evidence not of the probability of dramatic change but of the FACT of dramatic change, it becomes increasingly evident that we probably passed that "tipping point" a decade or so ago - like about the time Gore got handed his head over Kyoto and Hillary got handed hers over healthcare

Face it - we've been living under the RW regime and its war on everyone with less than a couple of million dollars non-stop since Carter.

Clinton may have slowed it a little, but not much.
