Diesel pollution 'clogs arteries' (BBC)
Diesel fumes appear to combine with artery-clogging fats to raise the risk of heart disease, research suggests.

Scientists found the two act in concert to switch on genes that cause potentially dangerous inflammation of the blood vessels.

They hope their work will lead to a simple blood test enabling doctors to evaluate the impact of air pollution on a person's health.

The UCLA study appears in the online journal Genome Biology.

Lead researcher Dr André Nel, an expert in nanomedicine, said the impact of diesel particles and cholesterol fats combined was much greater than the impact of each in isolation.

4. Yep And I Live Along A Rail Corridor
This is very bad news but not surprising. On days when we have poor air quality in Orlando, it is the diesel fumes which give me the greatest malaise.

Read what I'm doing about it on my global warming expert blog:

5. That why they have ultra low sulfur diesel
2007 they are going to particles filters (When they burn off they going to hit 1700 degrees should be lots of fires.)

They already went to EGR like cars. no one going to pay for engines with the extra wear for the extra soot in oil. This making the mileage drop from 6 miles to gallon to 5.73 miles to the gallon

2010 another engine change

No one paying for that either

So tell me again how bad trucks are

Oh by the way off road diesel engines are also having to go to the cleaner engines

Oh and trains are also behind the trucks but they are having to buy the cleaner engines also
