Thu Jul 26, 2007 5:07PM EDT

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Global wind power capacity rose
by nearly 26 percent last year, generating electricity
equivalent to nearly 33 million passenger cars, Worldwatch
Institute reported.

By the end of 2006, wind power installations had a capacity
of more than 74,200 megawatts, the Washington-based
independent research organization said late on Wednesday.

Germany, Spain and the United States generate nearly 60

fifth largest.

Brazil, Canada, France and Portugal, the organization said
in a statement.

1. Way to go .....
To hear the M$M there is only one alternative to oil and that is atomic plants.

The wind farms, solar installations, hydrogen, biomass can all be used in differing degrees. Who said that the world has to run on "one fuel"
