Schwarzeneggar To Address UN General Assembly In September Re. CA Greenhouse Efforts
Well, it's not like they were going to invite Bush or anything . . .

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger agreed Friday to appear before the United Nations Sept. 24 to tell world leaders about California's efforts to control greenhouse gases.

The invitation came as Schwarzenegger and United Nations General Secretary Ban Ki-moon visited a San Jose technology company whose products encourage energy efficiency.

"I would like to invite -- if you would agree -- to the high-level U.N. General Assembly dialogue to share you experience and vision with the leaders of the world.," Ban said to the governor, while the Chairman and CEO of Echelon Corp., Kenneth Oshman, looked on.

The governor accepted the invitation.

2. I will never believe that Ahhhnuld cares genuinely cares about ..
the environment after watching "Who Killed the Electric Car?" Basically, they show that, about the time he was promoting the hydrogen fuel cell technology, the ex-head of the pertinent California commission was getting a job with that industry. They both knew that practical, widespread use of that technology was (and is) years off, and that the technology was going to make practical implementation prohibitively expensive. Their efforts changed the focus from implementing the practical solutions we had (and have today) in terms of electric cars and plug-in hybrids, to making Ahhhnuld's buddies rich.

I truly question his intent, although Bobby Kennedy Jr. thinks that Arnold cares.
