Omani Oil Output Falls 6% In First Four Months Of 2004

MUSCAT - "Oman's state revenues increased by 5 per cent in the first four months of 2004 despite a decline in the crude production, thanks to higher international oil prices.

An official report from the National Economy Ministry showed that daily crude production fell by 6 per cent to 785,500 barrels per day in the first four months of the year compared to 836,800 barrels per day in the same period a year earlier.

However, total revenues of the government rose by 5.2 per cent to 1.24 billion rials ($3.2 billion) up to April this year up from 1.18 billion rials in 2003. The report also said that Oman sold its oil at an average price of $30.78 per barrel, 8 per cent higher than in the first four months of last year."
