My efforts are finally paying off! |
|
I got my latest electric bill today and my usage was down 25% from last month and 37% from the same month last year! I think this past month was hotter than the previous month, so this is good news. What probably really helped is that I got a new fridge, washer and dryer about halfway through the billing cycle. That means next month should be even better!
It's about time -- last month, when I thought I had done a lot, my usage was up, which was very disappointing. Now I feel like I'm finally making progress.

2. It's like losing weight... |
|
...except you get to turn the lost pounds into movie tickets (or whatnot.)

5. Well, I was planning to get a new fridge -- mine was from the 80s! |
|
Then my dryer died, so I figured I may as well go all the way and get them all at once. Isn't that what credit cards are for? My daughter works for an apartment developer/owner as a leasing manager and gets a discount on Whirlpool, so I saved about $800-900 on the three, so it could have been a lot worse than it was.

What's a CHP furnace?
Are you coming to the march next month in DC? We're having a meetup the night before.

Hopefully you'll come to the meetup this time. It's at The Hawk & Dove at 7p.m. Friday night. I've got something posted in the DC group.

13. Yeah, I know, but I don't have time to hang clothes out to dry |
|
Plus my husband does our laundry and my daughter does hers, usually at night -- I'd never get either of them to do it.
I remember when I was a kid and my mother used to hang the clothes outside in the summer.
