Lukoil Reportedly Cuts Oil Supplies To Germany By 1/3 - Marketwatch
Talking to Dow Jones Newswires, Grigorev later confirmed that the shortfall was from Lukoil and several smaller oil companies, adding that it was not linked to any repair of the pipeline through which the oil is exported to Germany. "Maybe they're looking for another market," Grigorev said.

A Lukoil spokesman declined to comment, but said a statement would be released in the coming days.

Russian crude oil supplies to Germany have been disrupted to such an extent that the Schwedt refinery in eastern Germany has had to look for other supply sources, Sueddeutsche Zeitung reported Friday.

The refinery, which usually gets its crude oil from the Druzhba pipeline, is currently getting its supplies from North Sea sources, according to the report.

1. This seems a bit weird to me.
I mean, one day, the oil stops coming out one end of their pipeline, and they aren't sure why? And it seems like bad strategy for Lukoil. Behaving like a random variable isn't a good way to keep customers.

2. Putin's showing them who is boss.
He'll do this to all countries that get Russian oil and gas.

Remember a couple of years ago when he had a show-down with Ukraine? A lot of southeastern Europe was left with a very questionable heating supply in the middle of winter.

People who mocked Russia and kicked her when she was down were exceedingly stupid.

It is hard for Putin and Russia to hit the U.S. directly at this point with oil and gas, but the time will come.

Meanwhile, the Europeans will probably dump us and cozy up to Mother Russia for that nice warm house and that convenient car.

Putin must really enjoy sticking it to Germany. I doubt that he's forgotten the Great Patriotic War.

3. Lukoil now operates a lot of gas stations on NJ Turnpike---what's with that? I guess Putin & Russia
are making inroads that way.
