Breaking news: New historic SH sea ice maximum and NH sea ice minimum
Just when you thought this season's cryosphere couldn't be more strange .... The Southern Hemisphere sea ice area has broken the previous maximum of 16.03 million sq. km and is currently at 16.26 million sq. km. This represents an increase of about 1.4% above the previous SH ice area record high. The observed sea ice record in the Southern Hemisphere (1979-present) is not as long as the Northern Hemisphere. Prior to the satellite era, direct observations of the SH sea ice edge were sporadic.

The NH sea ice area is currently at its historic minimum (2.92 million sq. km) representing a 27% drop in sea ice coverage compared to the previous (2005) record NH ice minimum.

3. POLE SHIFT WHEN, WHERE, AND HOW (For what it's worth)

The globe above is not an optical illusion or trick of the eye.
This is not a mistake of positioning on the page.
This is the way I have seen the earth positioned after the Pole Shift

The black line shows the current equator
The red line shows the new equator

4. Who are those people? And where do they get their ideas?
They must have been half asleep and dreaming during a science class sometime.

5. I don't have a clue... I just googed pole shift. However, I have read that
Edgar Cayce predicted in the 1930s that the Earth would shift on its axis as a pole shift occured...and that in 1969 scientists found evidence that a pole shift was in fact happening.

I guess just about all information on pole shift is speculative.

Hmmm. I wonder if I sold everything I have I could buy some land in central Africa????

6. Is this a garbled understanding of magnetic pole shift?
I would be curious as to what will happen when the magnetic poles flip.

7. Your guess is as good as mine. My understanding of pole shift comes from a 1970s
movie called DAMNATION ALLEY. :D

Really awful things happened in that movie, but the one that scared me the most were the armor plated killer cockroaches. (They say cockroaches will survive a nuclear attack and another ice agee.)

Walking home from the theatre, my path was crossed by a very large palmetto bug. I jumped really high and took off running in my four-inch high platform sandals!

I'm lucky I didn't fall and break my neck, 'cause I'm sure that six-legged critter had loads of friends waiting for just such an event. :scared: :scared: :scared:

8. Did you see where the author of the book , The World without Us
claimed that rats and cockroaches would die out without us?

11. One of the proponents of pole shifts was Hugh Auchincloss Brown

I read "The HAB Theory" in 1978, and still remember it vividly:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_HAB_Theory

The HAB Theory is a work of fiction by the author Allan W. Eckert. The book can best be classified as belonging to a sub-genre known as Apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic fiction. First published in 1976, the novel explores an alternative version of how the world has been formed, based on a theory postulated by a real scientist named Hugh Auchincloss Brown (in the book the character representing Brown is Herbert A. Boardman).
