Good friggin grief, check out this letter to the editor...
Edited on Sat Sep-15-07 02:39 PM by skids
...it's just a local paper, but it was so totally freeptarded it made me laugh, along with the ever-pervading sense of dread and disappointment that seeing a freep loose in the wild always brings, of course.

To The Editor: The future: You're proud that America achieved its 80 percent carbon footprint reduction without adding nuclear power.

You can still drive your gas-guzzling car every fifth day. Your lights flicker on and off in concert with the wind which drives the wind turbines.

It will be freezing tomorrow. You wonder, how far can you drive your electric car with the electric heater on? You attempt to recharge it with the solar powered generator in anticipation of the morning's commute, but night has fallen.

Soon, however, you won't have a job to commute to. Your company is shutting down. With reliable power only available every fifth day, your employer is unable to face Chinese competition exempted from Kyoto treaty CO2 caps.

You yearn for the sound of chirping birds long since obliterated by the churning blades of the massive wind farms. You yearn for the smell of forests long since plowed under for ethanol production and chic, low-yield organic farming. You yearn for a strong well-fueled military.

You wonder why when you demanded peace without victory you ignored the terms. So, per orders, you pull out your prayer mat for the fifth time and pray to Allah.

7. Oy vey....
Where to begin, where to begin to unravel the erroneous suppositions, the factual errors, and the fallacious conclusions...?

He does have something of a point about deforestation for ethanol, but that's it.

I think what is most frustrating is that this person thinks his argument is well reasoned, solidly grounded, and highly intelligent.

8. The path to Allah goes through the wind farm...
I am going to have to remember that one. And how is it that I could still drive my gas-guzzling every fifth day but I have to recharge my electric car with solar power at night? What kind of idiot have I become? Have I been drinking ethanol all day?
