Putting a deposit on the electric car that will solve the climate change problem...
...the most important problem being with climate change being that little rich boys who couldn't care less about climate change sometimes feel guilty for their lifestyles and wish to buy off any sense of responsibility.

Priority status is another solution employed by some of the industry's smaller automakers to help spur positive cash flow. For instance, Silicon Valley's Tesla Motors has a two-tiered reservation system. A a deposit of $30,000 merely puts you on the list, while a larger deposit of $50,000 allows you rush status and delivery a few months earlier

1. R&D is expensive.
It's smart of Tesla to build a very cool sports car that will sell. That way they can recoup costs quickly.

The technology will make it's way into more affordable cars.

2. I'll believe it when I see it.

The Stanley Steamer and the hydrogen hypercar SUV didn't do all that well as world standards.

Of course, as ususal, Amory Lovins made big bucks, no doubt, from the latter by selling the hype in HYPErcar, but frankly it has had zero effect on addressing climate change.

4. See that? Climate change is solved!!!!!!!!
Combined with Governor Hydrogen Hummer's efforts and the brazillion solar roofs that make brazillions of tons of hydrogen, and let's not forget the Rio Tinto/Walmart/Royal Dutch Shell executive Hydrogen Hypercar Amory, all of our problems are solved.

We can have our car culture with no pain whatsoever. Then again nobody seriously was really worried about the kind of people who buy BMW's and Hummers to have any pain, did they?
