Bush: Kyoto approach on climate is "bad policy"
Mon Oct 15, 2007 6:19pm EDT

By Caren Bohan

ROGERS, Arkansas (Reuters) - U.S. President George W.
Bush said on Monday his administration's approach of
emphasizing voluntary approaches to address climate
change was working and he denounced Kyoto-style
mandatory caps as "bad policy."

Bush's comments were the latest sign that his opposition
to binding emissions caps remains firmly entrenched,
even as he has made efforts to show he wants to be
more engaged in the global debate on climate change
amid sharp criticism from other countries.

"The fundamental question is whether or not we will be
able to grow our economy and be good stewards of the
environment at the same time," Bush said during a
question-and-answer session after a speech on the U.S.
budget in Arkansas.

"I'm interested in good policy. Kyoto, I thought, was
bad policy," Bush said.

The critique of the 1997 Kyoto Protocol came days after
former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and the United Nations'
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change were awarded
the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts to
raise awareness about climate change.

1. Can you imagine if corporations were schoolchildren?
Bush's policy would be that students should make voluntary, non-binding efforts to get good grades, but nothing bad will happen if they don't. Yet what Bush actually does with students via the WASL test is 1000 times more harsh. What the FUCK is up with a president who makes binding resolutions for children and teachers but can't do it for corporations? Am I wrong to think that multi-million dollar corporations should have MORE responsibility than school chilren, not less???

3. We, the (bound) People are the ones who always take it in the shorts
I think that has been a consistency of this administration. If you're a large multi-national who supports *, you can pretty much do whatever you like. If you're an ordinary citizen, you should be very afraid because the government is looking for ways to make your life miserable.

Making life miserable for We, the People seems to be all they do anymore.

Its like he has to be harassing somebody or he will look weak, so he harasses regular people like you and me.

Please note the date, Littlest President - OCTOBER 15th. You may not remember this from "Our Amazing Planet", p. 64, but way, way up north, where Santa lives, it gets cold and dark this time of year.

In fact, there isn't any sunlight at all right now - pretty spooky, huh? So, with no sunlight, why no ice? Maybe you should ask your teacher!

Now, shut the fuck up and go eat another paint chip.
