India-US nuclear deal stalls indefinitely

Randeep Ramesh in New Delhi
Tuesday October 16, 2007
Guardian Unlimited

The controversial nuclear deal between India and the
US has been put into "deep freeze" after the Indian
prime minister told the US president, George Bush,
"certain difficulties" had stalled the pact for the
foreseeable future.

Described by the Bush administration as the "single
most important initiative in the 60 years of our
relationship"' the landmark agreement would have
allowed India to become the first nation allowed to
keep its atomic weapons and to trade in nuclear
technology despite not having signed international
treaties on non-proliferation.

1. Fine with me.
Mangoes from the Philippines are vastly superior anyway. The texture is indescribably more velvety, and the flavor... *sigh*

It's why I can't leave. That and taho.

2. taho
tofu and sago pearls with brown sugar syrup, scooped out of a pail. Sounds irresistable. Or not.

3. I must disagree with you in no uncertain terms
Philippino mangoes are like ashes in the mouth once you've had a mango from the Western Ghats. Not at all like the crap one generally gets from export.
