In fact, I am here to say that this kind of consumerist crap
is pretty much worthless.
There is NOT one consumer brat anti-nuke who has even a fucking remote clue about scale. NOT ONE.
I am happy to poke at the gut of fat consumer anti-nukes who couldn't care less about dangerous fossil fuels but have a big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big, level "concern" for nuclear's "problems."
There is nothing, absolutely nothing, very little that points up the consumer conceits of the anti-nuke industry, than happy talk about 5 or 6 solar cells in a fucking yuppie winery.
Nothing.
Squirm all you like, the fact is that the anti-nuke industry, a highly paid (off) bunch, couldn't care less about dangerous fossil fuels.
There is not ONE anti-nuke who has bothered to find out how many joules are in a gallon of gasoline.
In fact, the answer to that question is 132 MJ/gallon:
http://bioenergy.ornl.gov/papers/misc/energy_conv.htmlWe know, in spite of all the anti-nuke ignorance about continuous vs peak energy how much the
smallest and least significant of all of the climate change free forms of energy produces in this country. I keep producing it, but for all of their pay (offs) it would seem that anti-nukes don't get it:
http://www.eia.doe.gov/cneaf/solar.renewables/page/trends/table1.htmlThe big, bad, awesome, tremendous, break their fucking arms patting themselves on their consumer brat backs solar industry produced in 2005 just about what it produced in 2001, 0.066 Quads which is about 0.07 exajoules.
Now I realize you can't get into the anti-nuke industry/religion if you can do math, but this works out to the equivalent (ignoring refining costs and shipping) to about 528 million
gallons of gasoline.
Gee willilkers Momma! Whoopdedoo! Hallulooooooojah!
That's 12.6 million
barrels of gasoline!
WE ARE SAVED!!!! PRAISE THE LORD AND HIS ORACLE AT SNOWMASS.
That's the
entire United States. The whole fucking country. That would be the whole fucking country after 50 years of cheering how "Solar Will Save Us!!!!!"
There is NOT ONE anti-nuke who knows anything about, or gives a rat's ass about scale.
How much gasoline is 12.6 million barrels of gasoline?
According to the table, the US demand for petroleum products amounts to 42.9 exajoules, converting from Quads to exajoules.
Thus the big deal solar industry - which has proponents around here saying that it is alternative to fossil fuels
and the largest, by far, source of climate change gas free energy, nuclear energy - produces 0.162% as much energy as the dangerous fossil fuel petroleum - never mind the
other dangerous fossil fuels about which the anti-nuke industry/religion couldn't care less.
Put another way, the total production of solar energy in this country, after decades and decades and decades of "world's largest" installations and endless cheering like the OP here, the sock puppet stuff, amounts to about 14 hours of US consumption of oil.
Drive me to the winery Momma! I want to have me a drink to celebrate the big, big, big, big, big solar victory.
Tough shit. The fact is that the anti-nuke industry opposes the largest, by far, source of climate change gas free energy, demonstrating rather unambiguously that the anti-nuke industry couldn't care less about dangerous fossil fuels because it is full of
self congratulation in a time of dire emergency when all life on earth is in extreme danger from dangerous fossil fuel waste.
Now let's compare the nuclear industry - opposed by some solar slugs - produces.
The nuclear industry produces more than 73 days worth of US oil consumption.
The nuclear industry produces more than 130 days worth of US consumption of
coal, another fossil fuel about which the solar hype anti-nuke industry couldn't care less.
Squirm all you like. You
should squirm. It's pretty clear what the consumer apologist "we're great guys because we love solar and hate nukes" industry is all about: Self delusion.
You see that number at the top of the chart?
You don't?
You couldn't care less?
Why am I not surprised?
