New galaxy has astronomers in a spin

Cleveland - Astronomers at Case Western Reserve University said on Wednesday that they have discovered a new galaxy orbiting the well-known galaxy Andromeda.

The new galaxy, Andromeda VIII, is so widespread and transparent that astronomers did not suspect its existence until they mapped the velocity of stars thought to belong to Andromeda and found they move independent of that spiral galaxy.

"This is particularly exciting because it allows us to watch the ongoing growth of the nearby Andromeda galaxy from smaller galaxies," said Heather Morrison, one of the three members of Case Western Reserve's astronomy department who will report the discovery in Astrophysical Journal Letters.

3. Neat discovey!
Last week we had rocks in space all spinning as if linked together - one spin direction for everyone! (cause by photon power over billions of years)

Now this - The kids are discovering neat stuff!
