with the promise of money for college, learning hands-on skills and helping in their states with things like forest fires. They never mention how they might be sent thousands of miles away to fight in a hopeless foreign war.

She works for FEMA, she's gone for months taking care of this kind of stuff.. more the long-term rebuilding though, they don't send her out to rescue anyone. Anyway, she left yesterday, she'll be gone a long time I think.
