The industry aims to speed up the innovation process and wants to further expand production facilities with the investment, BSW said in a statement.
Sales are seen rising to more than 13 billion euros in 2010 from about 7 billion last year, with about half expected to come from outside Germany, it added.

Last year, about 200,000 solar panels to generate heat and electricity were installed on German rooftops, driving the overall figure up to 1.5 million, the association said.
