3 Wheeled Vehicles OK in Ohio
http://www.firstcoastnews.com/news/strange/news-article.aspx?storyid=111549&catid=82

CLEVELAND, OH -- On Tuesday the Ohio Legislature approved three wheeled vehicles for use on the road.

It was part of a massive spending bill that cleared the Ohio House and Senate on Tuesday.

So, if the vehicle has three wheels, fits one person and uses no gasoline at all, what do you call it?

Is it a car or a motorcycle?

2. Adorable.
Very cute. Perfect for short commutes, shopping, etc, but that $30K sticker price is gonna have to come down quite a bit before I'd buy one.

3. There have been 3 wheeled motorcycles forever.
Whatever happened to those 3 wheel Cushmans that you used to see years ago used by police cadets and the like? They were enclosed and would be great around town. Back in 1980 I had ordered a car that I never got called the Freeway (I think). It had 3 wheels (2 in the front) and seated 2 close together or 1 comfortably and it came in gas or diesel and was licensed here in Wisconsin as a motorcycle although it was enclosed. Even 3 wheeled pedal powered vehicles are not necessarily a kid's trike. There are 3 wheeled recumbents that can cost thousands and are way cool.

8. This is a three-wheel diesel-electric hybrid you build from plans
http://www.rqriley.com/xr3.htm

It weighs only 1300 lbs and can get up to 225 miles per gallon and reach speeds of 85mph.

This website has some interesting stuff, including an extremely efficient, lightweight carbon fiber bicycle that you can build from their plans.

You're probably more familiar with their 3-wheeled electric vehicle, the Sparrow:

12. Looks like a fancy electric go-cart.

And for $50,000 cdn, I'd expect more. Is it vaporware? Their web page says that it will be "available for ordering in Spring 2007". It doesn't even look like they have a prototype vehicle yet.
