Speeders to pay extra for police fuel |
HOLLY SPRINGS, Ga. — The surging price of gasoline has come to this: a "fuel surcharge" on your next speeding ticket. Drivers caught speeding in this north Atlanta suburb soon will have to pay an extra $12 — to cover $4-a-gallon gas costs for the police officers who stop them. http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/energy/2008-06-18-speedingticket_N.htm

1. Wait 'til they add on the "Donut Surcharge". |
The poor officer will have to replenish his energy after exerting himself writing that ticket.

2. not much speeding going on in my town these days....SUV's |
seem to be attempting to coast at every possible opportunity. Before, I feared they would kill me racing by (while on cellphones), but all I had to do was get out of their way and they'd be gone. Now the monstrous things creep in front of me, I can't see, and can't get where I'm supposed to be when I'm supposed to be there. I don' think people can afford to speed anymore. Here in Central PA, everyone drives a tank (except us).

5. We have fewer speeding UAVs here now, too. Usually the wild driving is |
the brand new $50k+ black import sedans that the young men all get as high school graduation presents. They drive like lunatics because when rich daddy is paying for the gas, who cares how much you waste and the cost?

3. Same place that had the VW Rabbit Cruiser? |
Was this the same area that VW used in advertising in the late 70's. A local Sherrif that used a VW Rabbit for his police cruiser? Couldn't find an article about it on the web to recall just where bouts that was.
