White House Refuses To Release Documents On Air-Quality Policy
Officials Again Cite Executive Privilege

The Bush administration yesterday invoked executive privilege and refused to turn over key documents sought by a House investigative committee, escalating a fight over the White House role in U.S. policy on greenhouse-gas emissions and ozone air quality standards.

Rep. Henry L. Waxman (D-Calif.), chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, called off a threatened contempt of Congress vote against Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Stephen L. Johnson and a White House budget official while congressional Democrats decide how to respond.

Lawmakers say the two Bush administration officials refused to respond to subpoenas for documents about communications between the White House and EPA. The papers concern White House intervention in Johnson's December decision to overrule EPA officials who were in favor of granting California and 17 other states permission to mandate a reduction of vehicle emissions by 30 percent by 2016.

In March, the EPA also issued tougher health standards for smog, but they were not as strict as levels recommended by an EPA science advisory board after President Bush sided with the White House Office of Management and Budget in opposition.

dems in congress to roll over and do whatever they want yet congress cannot even get a simple statement of policy from the bushist's ?!

How is this anything even approaching the common understanding of co and equal branches of government? Bipartisanship? Sanity?

This is contempt of congress, the American people and the country. It seems that there should be little question about impeaching these lying criminals. If congress does not even consider impeachment is it not a failure to carry out their duties as representatives of the United States?

3. Cheny has been remarkably effective in establishing the dictatorship of the OVP
It's the most effective transition to dictatorship since Julius Cesar did it.

2. why don't we just accept it
:sarcasm:
this is a dictatorship

why do we keep getting all exercised over things like this?

bush decided that Saddam Hussein was having all the fun, what with getting to build palaces while people starved, torture people, lock them up without trial...

so he gathered up his buddies and they deposed the dictator; now bush gets to do all that fun stuff.

end of :sarcasm:

But seriously, folks. The very idea that this mob thinks for one second that it is going anywhere next January is absurd. They won't leave with any less persuasion than Saddam required. The election process is just a red herring. Why do the republicans settle for a loser like mccain as candidate (ok, there wasn't anything better, but that's beside the point)?

Because it does not matter.

Israel will attack Iran; Iran will retaliate; the US will "have to" go to Israel's defense; all hell will break loose in the MidEast and probably elsewhere; bush will declare a state of emergency, officially suspend the Constitution and disband Congress (he gave himself that right, you know) and that will be that. Mission Accomplished. Rove will have his 100 years of republican rule.

5. I really wonder what will happen
the story about the frog in slowly heated water seems so applicable.

If they had come in seven years ago and said "ok, here's the new rules" there would have been an outcry. But now, I don't know. When the water finally starts to boil (the declaration of marshall law) I am not sure the frog will even know it. He's already cooked.

6. Will somebdy just ARREST these arch-criminals already?
Their contempt for America and Americans is boundless.

Their serial felonies strech backwards in a grotesque procession of fraud, perversion, and murderous theft.

There can be no doubt that, minus the overt racism and imminent physical danger, what we are feeling is exactly what the Jews who lived in Nazi Germany must have been feeling.

This is not hyperbole in the least, neither is the Bush Family's long historic relationship with the Nazis.

Don't believe me? Listen and read, then see what you think.

http://www.theforbiddenknowledge.com/hardtruth/operationpaperclip.htm

(note that the Dulles brothers were the head of what eventually became the Bush Crime Family or the Bush Family Evil Empire, whatever you want to call the subset of tyranny that has been plaguing our nation since at least the 1930s and maybe longer)

Last but not least, yet another shoe drops in 1988, 53 years after Prescott Bush was to be named Ambassador to Nazi Germany of the Fascist Staes of America, had the coup against FDR succeeded:

http://www.skepticfiles.org/socialis/bushnazi.htm

NOTE that this is a reprint of a 1988 NYT editorial, and it jibes with my memories of the short period of time this was covered in the MSM. To those young people out there, yes there was a time when the MSM actually did it's job a little bit.

Thus 2 of my 3 sources are pretty credible, the NYT and the BBC. It's hard to find a "credible" description of Operation Paperclip that doesn't ignore the "Klaus Barbie/Reinhard Gehlen" part of the Op. Most only speak about the "Werner Von Braun" side of it...the "good" side.

I hope people who haven't read this information before will take the time to read these links. They are quite an eye-opener.

7. while congressional Democrats decide how to respond.
They've been doing this for seven years and we're still trying to figure out how to respond. We are all doomed.
