What we're facing here in Pennsylvania
"Pushed by Enron and crafted behind closed doors, the 84-page measure to deregulate Pennsylvania's electric industry was slipped into a bill that called only for a one-word change in the state's taxicab law."

2. Speak for yourself--electricity deregulation has helped me immensely
Edited on Sun Jun-22-08 01:50 PM by Orrex
Prior to deregulation, I had to figure out what to do with that extra $100 bucks in my pocket each month. Now, it's no longer an issue.

6. "Deregulation" is a misnomer.
We all know markets require regulation. "Deregulation" is simply a term that means regulation to protect consumers is removed, and regulation to protect corporations will take its place.

7. wow! what slimy bastards!
They got our state too. We are so poor these days, so many essential services are being cut, because they stole 9 BILLION dollars! Someone needs to find Phil Gramm and put his ugly ass in jail!

8. Gramm is easy to find
He's one of McCain's economic advisers. We also need to find the other 200 federal legislators that took campaign donations from Enron and the idiot who signed the Gramm co-sponsored bill.

10. Way to go PA!!!
I'm in a deregulated state (Texas) but my utility is city-owned, thank you God. For most of the people of Texas, dereg has resulted in high prices and atrocious customer service.

Enjoy!
