Judge hears Teck Cominco motion to dismiss lawsuit
this is a few days old but a perfect example of setting a precedent for pollution for out of country corporations who pollute the USA environment. Now be watching for the foreign mining industry, mining gold on public lands to be getting away with murder thanks to people like Congressman Jim Gibbons and Senators Harry Reid and John Ensign of Nevada!!! This election was more about that then anything!!!

YAKIMA, Wash. -- A lawsuit against a Canadian mining company accused of polluting the Columbia River for decades should be dismissed because the U.S. government cannot impose rules on Canadian companies that operate on foreign soil, a company lawyer argued Thursday.

The U.S. District Court hearing was the latest step in a conflict between Canada and the United States over cross-border enforcement of environmental laws.
