What do Senator Harry Reid and I have in common?
Edited on Thu Jul-24-08 10:35 PM by kgrandia
Well, besides good looks and charm, both the Senate Majority House leader, Harry Reid and yours truly will be panel guests on a new show tomorrow called Meet the Bloggers.

The show is a production of the legendary onliner, Robert Greenwald of Brave New Films fame and the host is none other than the Young Turk, Cenk Uygur. (you ever notice how Cenk looks a lot like Marc Morano?)

Also on the show will be Nico Pitney, National Editor at the Huffington Post and Open-Left co-founder, Matt Stoller.

You can get a live streaming video feed right here: http://meetthebloggers.org/

If I get a chance to ask the Senator a question (not sure if I do or not) - I would like to get some suggestions.

Barring the ability to ask some direct questions - I will definitely have time to say a thing or two about Sen. Reid and anything you all think would be good to bring up, I'll try to bring up.

So. Any suggestions?

1. Senator Reid, where did you put your spine for safekeeping?
I mean, we haven't seen it in ages, is it in a safety deposit box? Under the mattress?

No, I don't have anything even slightly more polite than that for him.

2. Senator Reid, how do you feel being on this show considering the host had this to say about you...

No, seriously, do you think Reid has ever watched this? Don't get me wrong, I love it, but something tells me Reid doesn't.

;)

4. It's funny (in an odd way)
That we're always hollering "Reid needs to answer this! I'd demand Reid answer THAT! If I could I'd tell Reid...."

Yet, when there's a real opportunity to ask a question, that MIGHT be answered, I'm mute.

I'll leave it up to the pros, and I'll be watching!! :hi:

8. Oil speculation
Want to ask him if he thinks cracking down on oil speculators will make a lick of difference in oil prices in the long term. Also, why are the Dems spending all their time attacking the GOP's offshore drilling plan, instead of presenting their long term solution to the energy crisis.

The GOP is kicking the Dems ass right now on the gas prices issue.

9. And what is so infuriating about it
(GOP kicking Dems ass re: gas prices) is that they're WRONG and we're not explaining that to the people very clearly or concisely.

We need to address both, I think -- WHY their plan does not help us, How our long-term solution will ensure we never get into this situation again.
