Limes May Help Cut CO2 Levels Back To Pre-Industrial Levels |
|
'There are potentially huge environmental benefits from addressing climate change - and adding calcium hydroxide to seawater will also mitigate the effects of ocean acidification, so it should have a positive impact on the marine environment.' http://www.terradaily.com/reports/Limes_May_Help_Cut_CO2_Levels_Back_To_Pre_Industrial_Levels_999.htmlmaybe fantastic? :D

Calcium hydroxide is LIME (no "S")
These folks are talking about adding lime to seawater, thus boosting the pH to fix CO2 in seawater. What remains to be seen is what mucking about with the pH of seawater will do to "base of the food chain" organisms like algae or diatoms. The law of unintended consequences has a habit of sneaking up on you and biting you on the ass, ya know?
