Palin: the real scandal (The Independent)
By Leonard Doyle in Anchorage
Saturday, 6 September 2008

... She wants to start drilling. She wants to block US moves to list the polar bear as an endangered species. And she has allowed big game hunters to shoot Alaska's bears and wolves from low-flying planes.

The US Geological Survey says climate change has shrunk Arctic summer sea ice to about 1.65 million sq miles, nearly 40 per cent less than the long-term average between 1979 and 2000 ...

The Palin administration has allowed Chevron to triple the amount of toxic waste it pours into the waters of Cook Inlet. This, even though the number of beluga whales in the bay has collapsed from 1,300 to 350 – the point of extinction – because of pollution and increased ship traffic ...

"The governor pays lip service to the issue of global warming but denies it is man made. She will not even spend money to help the Inupiaq villages which are about to fall into the sea."

1. She's a dominunist
she knows damn well that climate change is at least seriously accelerated
by man...that's exactly why she allows as much of it as she can.

:grr:

2. Maybe she thinks Alaska will be a better place to live if it warmed up a little
I am considering the investment potential of some prime beachfront property in Alaska before the rush starts. Sounds like a sure thing.

How long would I have to hold on to such land before it value doubled?

3. Impressive how the US media does't cover these sorts of things
and how the obama campaign is all but silent about them too.

4. Gore spoke immediately before Obama at the DNC
And the requirement to address GW has been a standard part of Obama's stump speech.

Why the hell are you posting misinformation on our candidate?

6. That really fails to address the point, doesn't it?
Of course, you make a habit of such nonsensical claims and inappropriate replies, so there is no surprise involved.

7. The point was that the foreign press covers and emphasizes this material to a FAR greater extent
than what you see in the states.

And so do their candidates and public officials.

You'd to live in a bubble not to see that.

8. The foreign press isn't what I commented on.
On that score, some foreign press is better, some is worse.

You also wrote this "the obama campaign is all but silent about them too."

Since my reply dealt exclusively with Obama, your bubble comment is... odd.
