Air Cars: A New Wind for America's Roads?
by Jim Ostroff
Thursday, October 30, 2008

A new carmaker has a plan for cheap, environmentally friendly cars to be built all over the country

An air-powered car? It may be available sooner than you think at a price tag that will hardly be a budget buster. The vehicle may not run like a speed racer on back road highways, but developer Zero Pollution Motors is betting consumers will be willing to fork over $20,000 for a vehicle that can motor around all day on nothing but air and a splash of salad oil, alcohol or possibly a pint of gasoline.

3. Cool tech, but kinds misleading words in the article. It doesn't run on air.
It runs on compressed air, the energy is held in the compression, so it comes from the electricity that powers the compressor. But still, of and in itself, its green.

5. Old tech as it turns out... adn renewable
if you think about it, if you have a bike pump,. you can 'charge up;' your car yourself!
it's too bad that companies are trying to make a killing, because this would be a great tech to send to poor countries!
It should not be that complicated, and easy for the low-income peoples to get around.
it's not like a electric motor, in that the batteries never get 'lower' over time
air is air, pressure is pressure.
as long as the tank is secure there should be no power loss over time and storage.

oh well...

6. Supposed to be out in 2000, then 2003, 2005...
Do a Google News search on Guy Negre the founder/developer of this company. Been reading about this since the late 90's. Always just a year or two away. And you too can invest and be on the ground floor if this buisiness!:sarcasm:

Tata Motors of India bought into this last year. I expect if anything ever comes from this it will be put on the market by Tata. But I havn't seen anything more from them since their initial purchase of rights to the technology.
