Tonight: Premiere of "Whale Wars" on Animal Planet
Watch the crew of the Steve Irwin take on Japanese whale poachers in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary. Guaranteed to be the most exciting reality show this season.

Just for context, this is what industrial whaling has done to the Pacific Ocean, resulting in the destruction of the N. Pacific kelp forest:

Sequential collapse of marine mammals in the North Pacific Ocean and southern Bering Sea

That fuckup with launching the Delta was damned scary.

3. That first episode
really made them look amateurish.

I hope their professionalism improves.

4. Ditto
Keeping the bow of the delta parallel to the ship should not be just one guy holding a rope. There are many ways to achieve a much greater mechanical advantage.
The "stink-bombs" could be launched much further using a large sling-shot made of surgical tubing.

5. I'm not a nautical expert
but having a bunch of RANK amateurs try to launch the delta while the ship was moving? Stupid. Really, really stupid.

And I might even go so far as to say that they shouldn't go out to sea with that many amateurs to begin with.

Finally, I am reminded of why I moved out of Humboldt county. :hide:
