On February 5th, 2009, The National Teach-In on Global Warming will engage over a million Americans in solutions-driven dialogue, adding thousands of new voices to the movement and educating our political leaders. We will all fight to place clean energy solutions to global warming at the top of the nation’s agenda, lift people out of poverty, and build a sustainable, inclusive economy. The Teach-In will focus national attention on what it really will take to stabilize the climate by drawing on some key recommendations from the Presidential Climate Action Project (PCAP):

1. Cut carbon 40% below today’s levels by 2020.
2. Create millions of Green Jobs: Weatherize, solarize and rewire the nation.
3. Revitalize America’s economy: Lead the world in renewable technology.
4. Promote carbon neutral power.

The 2009 National Teach-in on Global Warming is focused on the recommendations from The Presidential Climate Action Project. Based out of the University of Colorado, and directed by William Becker, the PCAP was convened in 2007 to produce a hundred day action plan for the incoming President and Congress. While the PCAP Plan contains hundreds of detailed recommendations, it highlights these four main action areas.
