when he was VP - he negotiated deals on fuel efficiency that were to begin in 2001. Needless to say.....Bush wanted the exact opposite to happen....his pals were the oil industry who WANTED fuel efficiency issues ignored.

Doesn't have cars in it. Period. Any future that contains cars of any sort faces inherent ecological limits because of the amount of human activity they enable.
As the Fram Filter guy says, "You can pay me now, or pay me later." This financial collapse has presented us with a golden opportunity to bring ourselves back into alignment with the planet. Let's not blow it through fear and attachment to the past.
Just say no to cars.
