Sen. Alexander unveils blueprint for 100 nuclear power plants in 20 years
U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, unveiled a blueprint for building 100 new nuclear power plants in 20 years on Monday.

He said it was his own blueprint in support of “the four-step” low-cost clean energy plan supported by the Senate GOP, which also calls for electric vehicles, offshore exploration for natural gas and oil and doubling energy research to make renewable energy cost-competitive.

Alexander said the Republican plan would “create jobs, lower utility bills and put the United States within the goals of the Kyoto Protocol on global warming by 2030 without the expensive cap-and-trade and renewable mandates passed by the House of Representatives two weeks ago.”

3. Because windmills would be too obvious
Look, is there even enough nuclear material that we can harvest to feed 100 power plants at once? If you are going to think on that scale, isn't there other more obvious options? Not that Im anti-nuke or anything

5. Malthusian Idiots - Nukes keep the population down
cancer, spontaneous abortions, immune system disorders, mutation of viruses and bacteria which we have no resistance to and hence pandemics.

Death and greed go hand in hand.

Who needs an Auschwitz when with a turn of the emissions/effluent dials you can increase nuke radiation on a whole community and keep the population of slaves to a manageable size?

7. That was the energy policy of McCain/Palin
That and the equally well thought out "Drill baby drill"...

(I firmly believe this caught on with the Republitards because of the sexual connotations when it was a chant led by their beauty queen High Priestess.)
