California kills offshore oil lease project

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The California state assembly killed a chance on Friday for
the state's first new offshore oil drilling lease since 1969...

California cannot afford to mess around with it’s tourism being damaged by taking
a chance on it’s beaches being polluted by an oil spill or seepage....

5. Did they identify where they were going to make more cuts as well
It lowers the income available so something else will now have to be cut.

Its not like I supported it, but one of the ways CA got to this state was constrained revenue and neither the legislature nor the voters were willing to control costs.

6. The Democrats and Environmental Coalition won this....
Ahnuld and the Repugs are the losers...they will continue to try to sell our Coast off to the highest bidder...

It's a brutal budget...and the poor get the shaft.

Ultimately, I believe we will make it through and our beaches will be less polluted than other Coastal States that
will allow more and more offshore drilling.

7. Remember, the Democratic leadership supported it too
not just the Gropenator.
