Attacking a CIA program providing climate data to scientists , Fox & Friends accused the Obama administration of "spying on icebergs instead of terrorists" and "tracking climate change instead of Al-Qaeda," which echoes a press release from the conservative and ExxonMobil-funded National Center for Public Policy Research that claimed the program "diverts intelligence assets to climate research." In fact, federal officials have reportedly said that the program, which allows the scientific community to gather data from CIA equipment, "has little or no impact on regular intelligence gathering."

Carlson: "Spying on icebergs instead of terrorists?" Teasing the segment, co-host Gretchen Carlson evidently read from the NCPPR press release, which was titled, "Spying on Icebergs Instead of Terrorists?" Carlson stated, "Spying on icebergs instead of terrorists? You won't believe what the Obama administration has the CIA using its resources for. That's next."

Kilmeade: Climate monitoring program "would task valuable intel resources to study climate change." During the segment on the CIA program, co-host Brian Kilmeade stated that it "would task valuable intel resources to study climate change." He later added, "Here the CIA with it's hands full, from the border of Pakistan, Afghanistan, ears and eyes everywhere, especially throughout the Middle East and Africa. Now they're forced to study glaciers and global warming?" Kilmeade suggested the CIA is assessing the impacts of global warming "as opposed to what terrorists can do to the country."

2. RW is now working with Schumer to scare WH and Senate Dems OFF of Climate Change legislation.

In fact, Schumer is working behind the scene to talk Reid into Immigration Reform debate AHEAD OF Climate Change, though Climate Change legislation has already been crafted for many months now, delayed by Health Care.

I think some who wear donkey masks are working FOR corporate powers and their Wall Street financiers who don't want ANY serious change at all when it comes to environmental reforms.

4. Does anyone really think Massey, Arch, et. al. will voluntarily stop flattening whole counties .

and obliterating entire watersheds in WV and TN and KY because someday somebody might want to live there or grow crops or fish?

Does anyone really think that utility companies are going to stop burning coal, even though they know that doing so is turning the oceans into vinegar?

Does anyone really think that salmon farms and krill fishing fleets are suddenly going to wake up one morning, slap themselves across the forehead, say "Gosh, what we're doing is destroying what's left of marine biomass" and voluntarily go out of business?

Does anyone really think that multinational agribusinesses are going to stop leveling the rain forest and draining the Chaco because they give a shit about extinctions or how the Amazon Basin influences global climate?

Does anyone really think that any government, anywhere, anytime, is going to tell people that they need to lower their expectations for their material standard of living, and that they in fact can't have everything they want?

We'll keep on doing what we do until we can't, and then we'll stop. But beforehand, voluntarily, out of concern for environmental values? Please.

And then, when the cupboard's bare and the lights go out and even the grocery store, whence (as we know) all food comes is empty, we'll sit on the tailings pile and look for two things: 1) someone to blame and 2) something to break.

5. Democrats on DU really need to pay attention and stop protecting those Dems blowing smoke in the

faces of their base and the large majority of this country who WANT environmentally friendly legislation and investment in GREEN INDUSTRY that will produce real JOBS for now and for our future.

Instead we'll see a big push by the corporatist Dems to make donkey mask wearing Schumer majority leader so the Wall Street gang can destroy Climate Change legislation COMPLETELY.

Kneejerkers like Kos and other duped bloggers are already pushing for Schumer to be majority leader because Schumer and his office played up to them during healthcare while all along he was undermining progress behind the scenes, same as he is doing now with Climate Change legislation.

Some so-called Dems WANT big losses in November because they think THEY will be the ones to rise to power.

the agency nor does it hurt the capacity of intel gathering from the agency too.
