Gray whale that washed up dead near Seattle has a large volume of trash in belly
including a pair of sweat pants, scientists say.

We are past the time of waking up.

1. Also...
Besides the pants and golf ball, there were more than 20 plastic bags,
small towels, duct tape and surgical gloves.

How horrific what humans have done to their habitat.

2. Fouled the nest of not only themselves,
but others as well --- all in the interest of keeping their own homes beautiful, and their recreation intact.

7. Poor fella, breaks my heart
People can be so damn stupid.

I saw a clip on the news of a group of elementary students posing in front of the dead whale, all smiling broadly and laughing and waving, while their teacher took a photo. I can see the educational value I guess of taking them down there, if you revere the animal, but that bizarre moment seemed in poor taste to me. Hope they cleaned up after themselves at least.
