News Flash: Anti-nukes Start Screaming About the Dangerous Fossil Fuel Waste Fund!!!!
Edited on Sun Apr-25-10 08:26 PM by NNadir
Anti-nukes, never ones to create arbitrary criteria, have demanded that the government take control of the dangerous fossil fuel waste that is, um, deposited in the flesh of every living thing on earth, in the air, on the land, and in the water.

They have demanded that the waste be stored forever, since it has no half-life and exists forever.

Until the waste repositories have been created, they have all decoded to stop consuming any energy that is NOT created by solar and wind energy, not that they have anywhere to put electronic wastes, or abandoned wind turbines.

Happily for those of us who think they're all arbitrary asses with very selective attention, the sort who insist that only nuclear energy be perfect while their pals at BP - the solar giant and dangerous oil and dangerous gas company - can kill at will, this new anti-nuke policy of heretofore unobserved consistency will require that anti-nukes spend less time on the computer trashing sciences that are way over their uneducated heads.

The figures for their new reduction in hours and hours and hours and hours and hours of blabber can be found here: http://www.eia.doe.gov/cneaf/electricity/epm/table1_1.html">Electrical Power Generation by source.

Wind, solar, geothermal combined with carcinogen generating trash and wood combustion provide 105,238 thousand megawatt-hours of energy, (2.5% of US electricity) and hydroelectricity produces another 247,510 thousand megawatt-hours of energy (5.9% of electricity.) Combined, if you can add and thus are not an anti-nuke, this amounts to 8.4% of US electricity.

They are, as we all know, very concerned about what they (in their enormous ignorance) call "nuclear waste" and so have decided to forgo the 806,425 thousand megawatt-hours produced by nuclear energy (19.4%) even if they have proved preternaturally unable to produce a single person injured by used nuclear fuel and couldn't care less about the millions of people who have been injured or killed by dangerous fossil fuel waste.

Previously insisting that only nuclear energy be perfect, and that it is insufficient for nuclear energy merely to be better than all the stuff they previously didn't care about, like electronic waste from solar PV, coal wastes from wind turbines, dangerous natural gas waste, dangerous coal waste or dangerous oil waste, they will now only spend 8.4% as much time demonstrating their complete lack of knowledge of even the most rudimentary science.

They may, of course, insist on forgoing solar energy until a permanent disposal site for electronic waste is identified, but that shouldn't effect much. After 8 years of listening to them prattle, solar energy doesn't even produce 0.1% of US electricity.

5. Move along, nothing to see here ...
Why do so many anti-nukes insist that people avoid reading anything they don't agree with?

Last night, we had one post from an anti-nuke who said that DU was "too tolerant".

For a bunch who think of themselves as heavyweight intellectual freethinkers, they sure don't act it.

10. Your own temperature is pretty high
Last time I checked, 18 exclamation points' of temperature.

How will you respond when an ANTI-nuke posts flamebait? My hunch is that you'll say "the mean nuke lovers started it!"

Hopefully, I will be proved wrong, but I've been here over 5 years: 'twas ever thus.

11. You are claiming an "equivalency"
If you have been here five years, then you probably remember threads where CCheney wrote threads without attacking people right off.
