Reality clashes with pronuke claim that proliferation not linked to nuclear energy
The nuclear caste system

...U.S. President Barack Obama is facing a major challenge to his nuclear vision from countries in the developing world that feel the nuclear treaty has been applied unfairly. Many states harbor a festering resentment against the major nuclear powers, saying they have used the NPT to establish an entrenched class system that guarantees their own nuclear defense, and that of allies like India, Israel, and Pakistan, but exposes the vast majority of U.N. members to the threat of nuclear annihilation. They are loath to accept new demands imposed by the big powers that would curb their own rights to develop nuclear power, or to participate in a burgeoning nuclear trade. The nuclear caste system.

...The development of nuclear weapons programs by key U.S. allies India, Israel, and Pakistan has led to charges that Washington maintains a double standard that allows its friends to make key nuclear weapons but prevents its rivals from doing so. The United States, with the backing of other nuclear powers, has permitted nuclear trade with India despite an NPT requirement that nuclear materials only be supplied to countries that allow IAEA scrutiny of their programs. Pakistan, meanwhile, has blocked negotiations in Geneva on a treaty that would prohibit countries from producing fuel for a nuclear weapon.

...The nuclear programs of North Korea and Iran have raised concerns in their respective regions about the power of the NPT to ensure a nuclear-free neighborhood. Several states have been hedging their bets by developing nuclear-power programs, or announcing plans to do so, that could raise the prospects of a nuclear arms race.

...Others believe the threat of the arms race is overblown. "The bottom line is that the risk of further proliferation is not as some have suggested even in the Middle East and in East Asia," Daryl G. Kimball, executive director of the Arms Control Association, told Turtle Bay. "The costs of going nuclear are so extremely high. The greater risk is that there may be a number of ‘virtual' nuclear weapon states if many more countries acquire the ability to enrich uranium or to separate plutonium from spent fuel."

themselves against the charge that they are illiterates complicit in this great tragedy.

Anti-nukes are not only a bunch that offers selective attention based on their own ignorance, but they are also cry babies when the consequences of their indifference become readily apparent.

There is NOT ONE anti-nuke on this website who has a single criticism of the Danish offshore drilling program - new leases let just weeks ago - because their dogma wants to present that dangerous fossil fuel hell hole as nirvana.

Unlike the anti-nukes, who have a fucking conniption if a radioactive bolt comes loose anywhere on the fucking planet, even if it doesn't harm a single cell of plankton, never mind a shrimp or a fish, I am one pro-nuke who has been calling for the banning of all dangerous fossil fuels consistently.

While fucking intellectually lazy uneducated anti-science anti-nukes were pissing and moaning with their delirious claim that Harrisburg PA was wiped out by Three Mile Island I was offering arguemnts for banning dangerous fossil fuels about which our car CULTist consumer anti-nukes still couldn't care less.

Three and a half years ago, on another website - one by the way where the management fellates Harvey Wasserman who has never had a fucking thing to say about dangerous fossil fuels in his long and stupid life - I was arguing to ban oil.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/11/24/195214/27 ">Banning Oil: Dimethyl ether, Hydrogen, Nuclear Power and Motor Fuel for Cars and Trucks.

I never hear a peep out of anti-nukes about dangerous fossil fuels, unless it is to put lipstick on a pig.

A very stupid anti-nuke came here recently to tell us how proud he was that his state produced only half of its electricity from dangerous fossil fuels, when in fact, that's more than twice the percentage of electricity it generated from dangerous fossil fuel before ignorant vandals destroyed that state's nuclear infrastructure.

Have a nice wiggly defensive slick soaked self rationalizing day.
