http://www.brighterenergy.org/9990/news/solar/silicon-valley-firm-secures-patent-for-high-gain-solar-technology/Silicon Valley company Skyline Solar has patented its High Gain Solar technology, which it says produces 10 times the power per gram of silicon compared to conventional technology.
Skyline, which is based in Mountain View, California, will produce the modules with its manufacturing partner Cosma International, aiming for the commercial, industrial, government and utility market.
The patent for a “Dual Trough Concentrating Solar Photovoltaic Module” was one of the first to be sped through the US Patent and Trademark Office via its Green Technology Pilot Program.

Bob MacDonald, CEO and co-founder of Skyline Solar, said: “We received a Notice of Allowance on this application slightly more than two months after acceptance into the program. By dramatically accelerating the patent issuance process, the US government is stimulating green innovation and reducing risk for technology investors.”
