BREAKING: Federal Flow Rate Technical Team Established To Determine Extent of BP Oil Spill
Definitive answers should come soon:

Admiral Thad Allen, the National Incident Commander for the Deepwater Horizon Response team, has today established the Flow Rate Technical Team, a multi-agency federal effort to determine oil flow rates from the BP spill at multiple time periods following the explosion, fire, and subsequent loss of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig.

Led by the U.S. Coast Guard, Minerals Management Service (MMS) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), along with technical representatives from the Department of Energy (DOE) and U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the team will work on a multi-agency level in order to compute the total outflow of the BP oil spill, a critical question that still has not been answered by BP.

2. Where is the "Plug The Hole In The Earth Technical Team"?
It reminds me of a Buddhist parable that my gf told me. You're walking through the woods and you get shot by an arrow. What is most important at that moment? To figure out who shot you? To determine how fast the arrow traveled and the precise angle? To determine how the arrow was made? Or to remove the arrow, stop the bleeding, and heal yourself?

We need to focus on stopping the bleeding, not figuring out how much blood is being spilled.

4. I used to think...
When I was a child that pollution would be bad and that it would damage all life on earth in some way and make it hard to survive. Maybe I should have gone with the worst possible case and thought instead that we might entirely poison the seas.

If we keep fooling around this this, than this is what will take place.

3. Hey! It only took a MONTH! Let's see, another 6-8 weeks to properly
evaluate the situation. 3-4 weeks to draft a Resolution of Recommendations, and then 6-9 weeks to implement the plan.

Heck yeah! I bet this sucker will be sealed up sometime around Christmas.
